October for ESB is full of badminton events. Coming up are, among others, Arctic Camp, a junior autumn holiday camp, the Finnish Youth badminton competition organized by the club, and of course the Arctic Open, which brings the world's top players to Finland.

Upcoming events, including school holidays and the Arctic Open, will also bring changes to ESB’s weekly training times. These will be announced separately on ESB’s website www.esb.fi (ESB blog and calendar) as well as by group.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

ARCTIC CAMP - BADMINTON CAMP 5.-6.10.2024

Welcome to the elite badminton camp Forever. The head coaches of the camp are Indonesian Teguh Santoso, Alan Afwanil Hakim, and Sami Parikka, along with assistant coaches. Come train with us and experience Northern grit and the Arctic spirit combined with Indonesian sweet heat. Groups will be divided into level groups if necessary. Competitive players have their own tailored training programs.

AUTUMN HOLIDAY CAMP FOR JUNIOR PLAYERS 14.-16.10.2024

The basic program of the camp day includes badminton training, free play, physical training, and supplementary exercises. Singles, competitions, and skill challenges will surely become familiar to everyone. All junior players interested in badminton can participate. Groups will always be divided by age and skill level if necessary.

FINNISH YOUTH 25.-27.10.2024

This Finnish Youth tournament, played in October, is one of Finland’s largest junior competitions. The tournament starts on Friday afternoon and ends on Sunday afternoon. Doubles matches are played in initial groups, ensuring each player has at least two matches. Our goal is also to organize mixed doubles in groups, depending on the number of participating pairs. Traditionally, competitors from Estonia, Sweden, and other countries have also participated. The event venue will also feature a Forza equipment display and sales point.

Match categories:

Boys’ and girls’ doubles and mixed doubles in age categories U11, U13, U15, U17, and U19.Register and come experience the Finnish Youth atmosphere.

Invitation:

The tournament is also a showcase for the club. Tournament arrangements require point scorers, announcers, court supervisors, referees, line judges, and many other important individuals. Please contribute to making the season’s main tournament the best event of the season.


CLASH OF CLANS ARCTIC OPEN (8.-13.10.2024)

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super Series 500 level elite tournament Arctic Open will be held in Finland in October. The venue is Vantaa Energia Areena. Almost all of the world’s top players are participating in the season’s main tournament.

Please use ESB’s club code "ESB24" when purchasing tournament tickets to support ESB’s junior activities.

  • ou can arrive at any time during the day. Price is €10 per person (invoiced).

! If you are under 15 years old, it is recommended to purchase a Wednesday tournament ticket from Lippu.fi using ESB’s code ESB24.


Registration for Club Day:

Through ESB’s myClub at https://esb.myclub.fi/flow/events/public (easiest to find based on the date in the calendar).


! Matches start in the morning and end in the evening. Players must arrange their own transportation to Energia Arena and back home.


! Upon arriving at the arena, players should report their name, club, and possibly member number at the information point. Several ESB coaches will also be present.

ESB GAME JAM - Open Event for All Badminton Enthusiasts

Join ESB’s GameJam event, where everyone can play matches with partners of similar skill levels. At ESB Game Jam, badminton is played in doubles and mixed doubles. You can come alone or with a partner. Adult matches are played in groups and divided by level if necessary. In the junior event, coaches help find suitable opponents and partners for game rounds.

All players participating in the junior event will be rewarded. Refreshments are provided.The event is free for those training in ESB-led groups. For others, the price is €10-15.

ESB’S SHUTTLE SALE: We provide our members with shuttlecocks to use in their own games. Typically, the club’s shuttlecocks are used during club training, so you don’t need to bring your own. We have shuttlecocks from brands like Li-Ning, RSL, and Victor available for sale
